If you are a bereaved parent, sibling or grand-parent, we hope that it will provide you with information about where and when you may contact us and perhaps encourage you to come along to one of our Sharing Meetings or contact one of our Chapter Leaders.

The mission of The Compassionate Friends is to assist families in the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child and to provide information to help others be supportive. TCF NSW is part of world-wide self-help organisation offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, siblings and grand-parents.  We offer friendship and understanding to families who are grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause.  All  bereaved family members are welcome.

The Bereaved Parent Centre in Sydney is staffed daily by volunteers who are bereaved parents, and there is a network of support groups throughout the state.

The Compassionate Friends of New South Wales invites helping agencies and professionals to refer their clients who have suffered the death of a child or a sibling to our organisation.  The support we offer on a one-to-one basis or in small group sessions can complement services that the bereaved person may be receiving from other sources. The Bereaved Parent Centre in Sydney is staffed daily by volunteers who are bereaved parents, and there is a network of support groups throughout the state. Recent research has shown that peer support groups are of great value to persons who have experienced loss since they offer a safe place for the bereaved to talk through their grief with other individuals who have had similar experiences.
