The 2010 Residential Weekend will be held At the Mary MacKillop Centre, North Sydney 11—13 September 2010 Set in beautifully landscaped grounds minutes from the central CBD, the Mary MacKillop Centre is the ideal city venue for our very special residential weekends. Among the Facilitators will be Dr Judith Murray from Queensland, and Julie Dunsmore AM.If you have never before had the opportunity to come to a Residential Weekend, rest assured that you will be warmly welcomed and will receive loving support during your stay. You will be greeted upon arrival by a TCF volunteer who can answer any questions and be there to make sure you get the most from the weekend. We do not want any bereaved parent or sibling to miss the weekend due to financial hardship. Financial assistance is available, if you need help with travel costs or with the cost of the weekend. This weekend, recognising our “Thirty Years of Compassion and Friendship”, will be held at the Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney. Registration forms for the weekend, to take place 11-13 September, are enclosed. If you would like to come as a day participant for either Saturday, Sunday, or both days, you are most welcome. Accommodation for those who wish to stay at the Mary MacKillop Centre for the entire weekend is available-tariff sheet enclosed. Arrangements may also be made for billeting or for financial assistance with travel or accommodation costs in hardship cases. Ring me at the Centre or your Chapter Leader to discuss this in utmost confidence. We hope you will be able to join us for all or any part of this very special weekend. Compassionately yours, Mary Carroll, OA , President TCF NSW The Residential Weekend will include small group sessions and keynote addresses featuring the following facilitators; Julie Dunsmore, AM, President of the National Association of Loss and Grief NSW. Julie, a familiar friend to TCF NSW, has previously facilitated at Residential Weekends and Workshops for us. She is a grief counsellor who is well known for her work with the families of the victims of the 2002 Bali bombing, as well as counselling of youth and raising awareness of mental health issues.Dr. Judith Murray. Judith is an Associate Professor at the University of Queensland and Program Director of the Master of Counselling Course. Major themes of her research have been in the area of reactions to bereavement and other situations of loss, and the development and evaluation of interventions to enhance mental and spiritual well-being. more.....
Registration is
due by 30th July and must be accompanied by payment in full or a deposit of
$50.00. With the balance due by 1 September. Refund conditions: fully refundable if notified in writing by 1 September 2010. Cancellation fee of $100 if notified after that date. Sue, a volunteer at the Bereaved Parent Centre in Sydney, is coordinating billeting for any country members who wish to use this service during the Residential Weekend . Any City and Met members who are able to provide accommodation may ring Sue at the Centre on any Thursday. For extra information regarding the Accommodation please email info@thecompassionatefriends.org.au or phone the Accommodation Co-Coordinator at the Centre on 02 9290 2355.If anyone is unable to attend for financial reasons please feel free to call our President, Mary Carroll, at home, on a strictly confidential basis or speak with your Chapter Leader.
